The bead head olive serendipity is one of my favorite caddis large nymph patterns. If I just want to catch fish or fishing is tough I drop this fly off of a rubber leg and get serious. My best sizes are #14 and #16, probably because there are lots of caddis larva is that size drifting along the river bottom.
