Brindle Chute Fly

Materials List:

  • Hook: TMC 100 #10- #16
  • Thread: 140 brown
  • Tail: Coastal deer hair
  • Wing: Calf tail
  • Body: Blend of hares ear, olive and orange rabbit, amber antron
  • Hackle: grizzly dyed march brown

The brindle chute is a Chuck Stranahan pattern used on the Bitterroot and Clark fork rivers. It imitates a March Brown mayfly, but also works well as an attractor, when there are amber/olive colored insects flying around.
