MFC Jake’s Richter Scale Spruce Moth

Jake of Montana fly company is the tyer behind this fly. CDC and an deer hair wing gives the flotation and color of the moth. We get Spruce moths here in August, especially where there are lots of pine trees near the river. Sections of the Madison river starting at West Fork, the Gallatin river starting at Taylor’s fork to Big Sky, and Quake lake all see good numbers of Spruce moths.
