Ice Cream Cone

The Ice Cream Cone is a chironomid pattern fished suspended below an indicator. As a rule of thumb a good starting point is one foot off the bottom. So, if you are fishing in ten foot of water place the indicator nine feet from the fly. Mid May through June is a prime time for this type of fishing on Hebgen Lake.
